Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year.

The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.

Applications for students studying abroad during academic year 2013/14 (i.e. September 2013 to September 2014) are now being accepted and the deadline for all applications will be the 31st May 2013.

How to apply

You have two options: design a poster or answer the question ‘5 things I wouldn’t study abroad without’.

Please choose one of these options. Applicants are not permitted to submit more than one entry.

OPTION 1: DESIGN A POSTER

1. Step One
   Complete the scholarship application form
   UK Student Application form
   International Student Application form
2. Step Two
   Submit a picture or poster promoting study abroad. The dimensions of your picture/poster must not exceed an A3 sheet of paper (297 mm x 420 mm). In the US this is equivalent to ledger/tabloid sized paper (11” x 17”).
3. Step Three
   Picture / Poster applications should be sent by post to:BUTEX Scholarship Competition,

Please note, entries will be mounted and displayed so that they can be judged by BUTEX members. This means that we do need entries to arrive by post as hard copies.

   Answer the following question: Five Things I Wouldn’t Study Abroad Without (Maximum number of words: 250)Please note, your answer need not be an essay or formal piece of writing
